Our society has encouraged us to live on adrenaline, sugar and caffeine. Slow your life down, take care of yourself and you will be better equipped to take care of others.
In just 30-60 minutes a day, you can explore the following ways to care for your mind, body and spirit, and determine what works in your own life.
- Take Time For Yourself
Do something nice for yourself at least once a week. Play a game of golf, take a bubble bath, get a massage, read a great book, go for a walk in nature. You deserve some time for yourself and the things you really enjoy.
- Take Care of Your Health
How long has it been since your last physical, dental appointment, had your eye sight checked, met with a dietician or nutritionist? Get your planner out now and make that appointment. And finally, get at least eight hours of sleep each night and cut your caffeine intake in half.
- Meditate
Meditate at least 15 minutes each day. Meditation takes practice but the benefits make the effort well worth it. Consistent meditation will help put you at peace.
- Journaling
Journaling is a way to open the door to your inner thoughts and find answers to problems (opportunities) in your life.
- Exercise
I know you can't find time. Start small, even 10 minutes a day, practiced for 21 days will help you make it a habit. Then you can add five additional minutes each week or even every 21 days.
- Laughter
I think you will agree that laughter can certainly help you feel great. Be open and look for opportunities to laugh each day.
- Random Acts of Kindness
Practicing simple acts of kindness will bring joy to those you are being kind to and yourself. The best acts are those you do secretly with no expectations of a thank you.
You will be amazed at the impact these simple ways can make on the quality of your life. Take time to take care of your Mind, Body and Spirit.
