Risks are present everywhere. Whether it is a workplace or a house, there are chances that one might suffer from severe injuries due to carelessness in this regard. The part of our body that is highly prone to injuries is an eye. It is the most sensitive part. Even a minute ignorance can lead to drastic results. Safety eyewear is the indomitable tool ensuring complete safety against different harms. Due to the myths that prevail regarding the utility and significance of adequate eyewear, that people often underestimate their inevitability. Need of the hour is to dispel those orthodox beliefs and give an enhanced approach towards modern thinking.

  1. Safety eye wear do not ensure complete protection-

    Eliminating risk completely is not possible. However, it can be minimized to a great extent. Most of the individuals underestimated the importance of these products as they believed that these do not ensure complete protection and a chance of disasters is still present. It is not at all a rationalized way of thought. Does not matter how many measures one opt to, uncertainties are not under human control. These eye-wear plays their role very well and they ensure that the level of risk gets minimized as much as possible.

  2. Prescribed eyewear can perform the function of safety eyewear-

    It was often believed that the prescribed eyewear one wears in daily life act as a safety wear. Does not matter how many additional side shields one uses with ordinary safety glasses, one cannot protect its eyes from disastrous hazards. Safety goggles are essential in a workplace prone to liquid splashes and chemical reactions. The prescription eyewear compatible enough to be used as a safety tool must satisfy OSHA guidelines. This compatible eyewear possesses special mark. If one chooses to use incompatible prescribed lenses, it may cause serious eye injuries or may even lead to complete blindness.

  3. Safety wear causes problems in vision-

    It is often argued that these safety wear offer protections from different harms but they cause problems in visions and one comes across various health problems by its use. The point is that it is based on its application that one may suffer any difficulty due to its use. If one experiences any, same must be treated in time. Personal factors may be the reason behind this.

  4. Safety wear is only for workplaces-

    Conventional mode of thinking emphasised on the use of these eyewear in workplaces. According to them, they were the workplaces that needed them the most. But it is not at all relevant. After all risk does not knock before its arrival. Whether it is a home or a workplace, need is to bring high quality eyewear into use.

  5. Tinted lenses provide UV protection-

    The reason behind presence of tinted lenses is to aid the user in enhancing its vision. They are not meant for ensuring protection from UV rays. They require specialised protection. Safety goggle can serve beneficial in this regard.

  6. Safety glasses are sufficient for complete eye protection-

    Though safety glasses are useful when it comes to ensure protection against different hazards, but when the place one is working in is prone to liquid and chemical splashes, they are not the right choice.

  7. Safety wear are useless when the workplace is equipped with safety measures-

    Most of the individuals believed that if the workplace is well equipped with safety measures, there is no need of safety eyewear. It is false. They serve as an additional covering and ensure higher degree of protection.
