  1. Prepare the night before and over the weekends your proposals for the week or day ahead, so that you are not taking precious selling time to do these tasks.

  2. When it is time to go home, make one more call.

  3. Find a way to meet your customers requirements, even if it means fighting your own internal red tape.

  4. Give your customer reasons to feel good about themself and you. Send them little presents of information, go to bat for them on research they might need, or a contact or referral they might need.

  5. Know your competitors products BETTER than your customers do.

  6. Do things for your customer that you do not get paid for, such as solving billing issues, or going beyond the call of duty.

  7. Dress sharp. Keep your shirts pressed, shoes shined, and attitude buffed. :)
