- Bats at congress Avenue
The congress avenue bridge which spans Town Lake in downtown Austin is where this spectacle takes place. More than 1.5 million Mexican free-tail bats emerge from the bridge each night from mid March to November at dusk. This event has become one of the top tourist attractions in Texas. - Town Lake
Right on the outskirts of downtown you will find Town Lake. This spot along the Colorado River is a popular site for walking, jogging, biking, picnicking, bat watching, and socializing. The 8.5 mile Town Lake Hike & Bike Trail is one of the most famous in Austin. There are shaded paths, water fountains, benches for resting, toilet facilities, and trail markers to help you measure your progress. Walkers, joggers, and bikers peacefully co-exist.

- Zilker Park
This fabulous city is a Mecca for outdoor recreation of all kinds. Austin has approximately 16,000 acres of parks, trails, and greenbelts with Zilker Park, the most popular, in the heart of the city. Once inside you will find beautiful jogging and bike trails, a disc golf course, the botanical gardens, picnic sites, playing fields, and quiet secluded areas. The Barton springs swimming pool is located here, which is one of the best swimming spots in Austin. This beautiful park is a great way to escape from the rush of the city.
- Texas State Capital
The Texas state capital is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Austin and a favorite spot for the locals as well. It is absolutely stunning inside and out, which makes it a fabulous place to visit. It looks South down Congress Avenue. 11th Street runs East-West past the front gates. Colorado and San Jacinto Streets border it to the West and East.
